San Miguel 1516 is currently only available in Spain and the new packaging is launching in that country this month.
A spokesman for Grupo – Mahou San Miguel says, ‘The previous packaging wasn’t playing the role of a premium flagship in the San Miguel portfolio. Consumers confused San Miguel 1516 with a strong beer whereas it is actually a Pilsen lager.’
Design Bridge has developed new 2D and 2D designs, and has created a new bottle profile for brand owner Grupo – Mahou San Miguel that mirrors the curve of the San Miguel logo.
In place of a large label, the new design features 1516 embossed on to the glass, while each bottle carries a red seal on the neck label.
