Made North design conference

Culture North is inviting designers and design students to Liverpool to discuss the future of their industry at the first Northern international design conference; Made North.

The event will take place at the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT) in Liverpool on February 21. Among those joining the debate will be Ian Anderson, founder of The Designers Republic; Matt Clark, founder of United Visual Arts; Conny Freyer, director of Troika and curator Danile Charny.

Patrick Murphy, creative director of Culture North says, ‘Usually Northern designers have to travel to London, but what we have tried to do is pick a Northern audience with a Northern perspective.

‘The design industry is going to change over the next five years as fields converge, we’re trying to create a platform for dialogue on future digital innovation.’

Mike Stubbs, director of FACT says, ‘Not only will Made North bring some of the most influential people in the design industry to Liverpool, but it also promises to ignite some exciting discussion around design, art and creative innovation.’
