Make your own robots

It’s many a boy’s (and girl’s) dream – creating an army of robots all at your command.

Make Your Own Robots

Now, that dream can become a reality, thanks to the lovely Make Your Own Robot kit, out this month from Laurence King Publishing and Magma.

Though it sadly doesn’t allow you to make robots that, say, tidy your bedroom or make you a crisp sandwich, the kit does contain 12 pre-drawn robots for you to assemble, as well as three blank templates that allow you to create your own critters.

Make Your Own Robots

An all-star cast of artists has created designs for these formidable paper machines, including David Shrigley, Jon Burgerman, eBoy, Airside and Donna Wilson. All the body parts are interchangeable, meaning that the imagination really can run wild.

More generous robot-builders can also use the special robot envelopes to send their creations to friends, though we’re guessing that for most people, their creations will be pretty hard to part with.

Make Your Own Robot is available from Laurence King Publishing priced £17.95
