Modern Toss 2011 Seasonal Blow Out
Satirical agit-scamp illustrators, animators, cartoonists and purveyors of inventive swearing Modern Toss are bringing together their 2011 body of work for a seasonal hoedown.
Limited edition prints and ‘brand new seasonal knick-knacks’ are promised alongside highlights from the last twelve months.
Helped by Clay Interactive, the collective made a foray into product development with its ‘Interactive Periodic Table of Swearing’ earlier this year.
You can have a go, if you make it to the gallery – or try this demo. However we urge you to take heed of the disclaimer, that if you click through, this is not for minors or the easily offended. But it is p**s funny.
Then there’s the Modern Toss Portrait Booth, half of which is given over to a candidly concealed illustrator, the other half, a captive sitter.
Modern Toss promise, ‘It’s a unique work of art you can carry around for the rest of your life unless you have plastic surgery.’
Elsewhere, there’s this season’s sartorial must-have – the tailored swear jacket – and a chance to fight the power with some non-specific protest posters.
You can also watch some Business Mouse, hero of Modern Toss’ big step onto the small screen, currently appearing on Channel Four, and being held-up as a ‘ball-breaking deal making’ rodent by the collective.
Modern Toss 2011 Seasonal Blow Out takes place from 9 – 18 December at Imitate Modern Gallery, 27a Devonshire Street London W1G 6PN
