The consultancy was appointed to the project last October having worked with Sacla since 2010.
Having recently helped with the launch of Sacla’s chilled sauces, Parker Williams was asked to redevelop the on-pack design for the ambient ranges, stored at room temperature.
The consultancy’s aim was to create a look that reflected the brand’s Italian, family-run identity and stood out on supermarket shelves.
Tamara Williams, Parker Williams creative planner, says, ‘The ambient pasta sauce aisle is very confusing – a muddle of different brands with very few authentically Italian products that deliver real stand-out. The new packaging captures the spirit of modern Italy, but packs an urban punch.’
The consultancy also hopes that the use of brush strokes on the pestos, fun typography on the stir-in sauces and a ribbon detail on the pasta boxes will help shoppers identify each of Sacla’s ranges.
