Thomas Heatherwick lecture

With the Heatherwick London bus making its debut on the streets next month, there couldn’t be a better time to hear more about the work of Heatherwick Studio courtesy of Thomas Heatherwick himself, who will be giving a lecture in London next week.

Heatherwick will be speaking about his projects in the areas of architecture, urban infrastructure and furniture design in a talk hosted by Laurence King Publishing. He will also be taking questions from the audience.

Among the incredible projects completed by Heatherwick studio, which was founded in 1994, are the stunning Seed Cathedral UK pavilion for the Shanghai Expo 2010, East Beach café in Littlehampton, and the Rolling Bridge, at London’s Paddington Basin.

Thomas Heatherwick, recipient of the London Design Medal in 2010, will be the subject of a solo show at the Victoria & Albert Museum , which opens in May.

The exhibition will feature objects including maquettes, prototypes and models grouped together in a series of ‘conceptual clusters’, each of which will be accompanied by film footage and audio clips.
