Print Club London’s alt cinema posters
Print Club London turned to its roster of illustrators for a commission by Soho House, which has been looking for 12 alternative film posters for its Electric Cinema venue in Notting Hill.
Cherry-picked for the job were Hattie Stewart, HelloVon, Anthony Burrill, and Ed Wood, who have created works inspired by The Great Gatsby, Gangster Squad, Rush, Anchorman 2, Gravity, and other hit films from the past year.
Wood had already been working on weekly illustrated posters for the Electric Cinema, which have become so popular people have been asking how they can buy more.
The project led to the Print Club commission, and the likes of this whopping mustachioed Ron Burgundy by Hellovon.
Meanwhile Hattie Stewart’s ‘May the odds be ever in your favour’ Hunger Games poster shows the inevitable fate of some of its unfortunate characters.
This time Ed Wood has captured the impossibly tall and very fetching hat of Lincoln.
