Tube trainers

The ultimate for Tube-loving trainer aficionados, these Nike Airs feature not only the iconic London Underground Roundel, but also use the Tube’s famous moquette pattern.

Inspired, Nike says, by ‘the very fabric of London’, the Nike x Roundel by London Underground collection feature the Tube logo on the tongue.

The trainers also use Misha Black’s 1978 geometric pattern, created for District Line trains.

On Tube trains this is rendered in moquette (a hardwearing wool and polyester mix) but on the Tube trainers it is rendered in Jacquard – a method for weaving polyester.

The limited-edition trainers will also be sold in custom packaging featuring the moquette packaging.

The collection features Nike Air Max 90 and Nike Air Max 1 trainers, and the first 150 pairs will be sold at a special pop-up kiosk at Picadilly Circus Station on 14 December.
