Bloom co-founder quits group

Bloom co-founder Gavin Blake is to leave the consultancy, it has emerged this week. He is the second of three founders to move on in the past year.

Blake says he is leaving because of ‘a disagreement with my business partner’ concerning the direction the business is taking. He plans to take some time off before taking up another opportunity.

‘I’m having a break first then looking at other options, possibly working as a creative director for another [group] or setting up something new,’ says Blake.

Blake co-founded the packaging group in 2001 with Ben White and Harriet Marshall. Marshall left the business to move to South Africa in 2006. White remains as chairman and Jill Marshall, previously chief executive of Design Bridge’s Branding & Packaging business, joined Bloom as managing director in January 2006.

Blake, who leaves on 2 March, will be replaced by Dan Cornell, who has been at the group for three years and will be promoted to creative director.
