Rankin shots fight violence

Photographer Rankin has shot head and shoulders portraits of famous female faces, made up to show the physical effects of domestic violence, for a campaign for Women’s Aid which breaks today.

The campaign, created by advertising agency Grey London, is designed to make an impact with images that will draw people’s attention and get them talking about the subject of domestic violence.

The raw portrait shows stars including Anna Friel, Honor Blackman, Anne-Marie Duff, Kate Thornton, Fiona Bruce and Fern Britton covered in bruises, cuts and scars.

Why is it that the life of a celebrity has more value than any one else? That seems to be what is implied by this campaign. It is really another assualt on the women who actually suffer. Immoral behaviour is such regardless of who suffers under it.

I’m 17 and ive suffered domestic violence from my father. I feel this campaign will help but it is not enough. Yes, the people who support this might not suffer but at least they are helped by the people who are by showing them they are aware. I would like to join the campaign and would like to help in anyway possible
    Thank-you
There is always a way out. and ther are always people who will help!!!
