David Hoe wins Wellcome digital competition

Interactive designer David Hoe was last night announced as the winner of the Wellcome Collection’s competition to extend the museum’s digital capabilities and on-line reach.

The competition, organised by Ico Design and BD4D, invited designers to create interactive works based on Wellcome’s ‘wordsoup’ – an archive of science-related words used as brand guidelines.

Hoe wins an Apple Mac Pro and 20-inch Apple display.

UK designer Kevin Luck scooped second prize, while the list of international runners-up includes Jonas Bergdahl, Therese Johansson and Ann Carrin of Gothenburg, Sweden; US designer Eric Jordo; Melbourne-based designer Jonathan Yeun; Italian designer Marco Secchi; and UK-based Thomas Goetz.

The interactive work and competition entries can be visited at www.wellcomecollection.org.
