The Workroom and Strangebrew join forces

The Workroom and Strangebrew are merging to form a new branding consultancy.

The as yet unnamed design group will be jointly led by creative directors Brigid McMullen and Nick Pettit. McMullen was formerly managing director of The Workroom and Pettit creative partner at Strangebrew.

McMullen reports that staff at both London-based consultancies will keep their jobs.

She adds that the new group, which is made up of about 12 employees, is in the process of recruiting to cope with additional projects.

Strangebrew is moving to The Workroom’s offices in London, N1.

McMullen explains that the two groups chose to merge for several reasons.

‘We’ve been looking for another creative team to work with for a while, but it was very difficult to find a good cultural fit.

‘We were looking for a business that was just as concerned as we are with the importance of words as well as images and good design,’ says McMullen.

The consultancy plans to operate under the name The Workroom until the end of this year. McMullen says that the team is working on a new, ‘surprising’ name and visual identity.
