Wagamama and Leon sign up for Westfield London

Restaurant brands The Real Greek, Wagamama and Leon will take their places in the forthcoming giant Westfield London shopping centre this Christmas.

They join Mexican restaurant Wahaca, Swiss self-service offer Tibits, delicatessen Esca and Middle Eastern brasserie Del’Aziz as the first raft of restaurant signings for the development.

The seven eateries will find their home on the Southern Terrace, a pedestrianised street of bars and restaurants.

The £1.6bn central London retail complex will eventually house 50 food operators. About 13 of these will be located on ‘stylish’ food gallery The Balcony, with a further four family-oriented offers found on mezzanine level The Loft.

Keith Mabbett, leasing director for Westfield London, says, ‘The mix of outlets will range from high-end cafés and restaurants through to market-style gourmet food kiosks, family restaurants and coffee shops.’

The developers claim that most of the food units are now at advanced stages of negotiation, ahead of the scheduled opening in December.

Westfield London will feature wayfinding and signage by Portland Design.
