Brand Pie, a new consultancy set up by former Brand Union chief executive Dave Allen, is working on consulting projects for 118 118, L’Occitane and The Juice Doctor.
Allen formed Brand Pie earlier this month with Roger Partington, former marketing director of Rowntree and board marketing director for Safeway, and Peter Widdup, former creative director of Sampson Tyrell.
Allen says the consultancy has also picked up clients in Australia, Germany and the Republic of Ireland.
Brand Pie has also acquired Widdup’s business Watershed Design.
Widdup says, ‘This is a great opportunity to get involved with a dynamic new business at a time when the market has never been more challenging – it’s at times like this when creativity and ingenuity really matters.’
Allen says, ‘I’ve been through two downturns, and I know that this is the time when exciting new businesses emerge.
‘Recessions force you to be more creative and mean that the fundamentals of branding can be rewritten. I think people will be looking very hard at their branding to position themselves post-recession.’
