Lighting show to be key part of Milan furniture fair

Lighting exhibition Euroluce will be the highlight of this year’s Milan furniture fair, according to plans announced yesterday by organiser Cosmit.

The fair, which will run from 22-27 April and occupy more than 200 000m2 of exhibition space at Milan’s Rho Fairgrounds, is the 48th Salone Internazionale del Mobile.

Euroluce will return to Rho under the umbrella of the Salone fair, with a range of offerings from decorative to technical.

Exhibitors have yet to be announced, but Welsh artist Cerith Wyn Evans is working on an installation to be housed within the courtyard of Palazzo Reale.

Cosmit is this year again working with the Municipality of Milan, which has offered its headquarters at the Palazzo Reale for another exhibition, From Magnificence to Project – 500 Years of Great Italian Decorative Art and Design Side by Side.

Conceived by Cristina Acidini and Luigi Settembrini, the show will explore the origins of the label ‘Made in Italy’ through displays of modern and antique furnishings.
