Paul King leaves Vivid Brand

Paul King, retail director of Vivid Brand, is leaving the consultancy. King, who has worked at Vivid Brand for three years, and was consultant at the group for 18 months prior to that, has taken voluntary redundancy.

He says he plans to set up a consultancy, Creative Design, and collaborate with others – on both client and consultancy sides – on projects in the short term. ing says, ‘I feel very positive about it. The market is picking up and I can work within reduced budgets, bringing in other people as appropriate.’

Gideon Karmiloff, managing director at Vivid Brand, says King will not be replaced in the immediate term. Karmiloff says, ‘Everyone appreciates that retail has been very tough recently. One of our main focuses now is with fmcg manufacturers.’ Karmiloff adds, ‘We had a great relationship with Paul. I’ve been working with him for around 12 years, [and] it was avery happy partnership.’

King says he will continue to teach on a voluntary, ad hoc basis at Brunel, Hertfordshire and Leicester De Montfort universities. He is also carrying out a pro bono project to rebrand charity Hertfordshire Homeless Children.
