Sebastian Bergne creates Enjoy utensils for Tefal

Sebastian Bergne has designed a new range of kitchen utensils using recycled materials for Tefal.

Consultancy founder Bergne says his group started work on the Enjoy range about a year ago, and has worked for Tefal for a number of years.

It was briefed to use a specific amount of recycled PET to allow the utensils to be ecological, but also affordable – the range will sell for around £2 per item in the UK.

Bergne says, ‘The brief was very interesting in that we were given very specific grammages of materials for each utensil.’ He adds, ‘We’re primarily interested in making beautiful things. I think ecological considerations should be there, but not necessarily flagged up.’

The range is set to launch in the UK imminently, and will also be featured as part of the exhibition In Progress, which opens on 7 May in Belgium.
