Posters by Saul Bass
The work of one of the last century’s most iconic designers, Saul Bass, will be exhibited at London’s Kemistry Gallery from next week.
Instantly recognisable and groundbreakingly innovative, Bass’ work led the way for a number of graphic designers, and always put strong ideas at the heart of his designs.
Bass, who was born in 1920 in New York and moved to Los Angeles in the 1950s, worked with film greats such as Preminger, Hitchcock and Scorscese, receiving an Oscar in 1968 for his own film How Man Creates.
The exhibition, which features some of his most iconic film posters, includes gems from the British Film Institutes poster archive.
The film posters of Saul Bass runs at Kemistry Gallery, 43 Charlotte Road, London EC2A 3PD from 17 February.
