Tom Dixon to create Blackberry installation in Milan

Tom Dixon has joined with Blackberry to create a showcase for the company’s new collection and the Blackberry Playbook at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair.

The 400m² installation, which will be located in the new venue of Office Stendhal in Milan, will focus on usability and interaction, says a Tom Dixon spokeswoman.

Instead of displaying pieces on plinths, the installation aims to show the devices in real-life settings.

Tom Dixon will create six ‘hyper-real’ environments, including an interactive zone (pictured) and science laboratory setting, which will add theatrical context, says the spokeswoman.

The Milan Furniture Fair runs from 12 to 17 April.
