Barbican Weekender
The Barbican Weekender will return this weekend with a packed programme of art, design and tech related activities to get involved with.
You can try your hand at 3D printing with Black Country Atelier, or computer coding and animation with Sketch Tag.
We like the sound of choreographer Darren Johnston’s I’ll be Your Mirror in which a hologram mirrors your movement.
Best of all though is a 20-person game called Transformer designed by Usman Haque, which will take place in the Pit Theatre in darkness. Players collect hidden light tokens and share energy to win. What could possibly go wrong?
If you’re feeling collaborative there’s the multi-user film and art app Fevered Sleep to have a go at, or dance installation Danceroom Spectroscopy.
It’s also an opportunity to get down to the Curve gallery where you can experience United Visual Artists’ Momentum installation.
A programme of workshops is being put together under the title We Create, with music, art, dance and film events aimed at all ages.
On the Saturday under the We Create banner there’s Tim and Barry’s Just Jam which will see music channel Just Jam host an evening dedicated to the UK’s electronic music scene with live performance, video and audience participation planned.
The Barbican Weekender takes place from 1-2 March at The Barbican, Silk Street, London, EC2Y 8DS
