Kid Acne exhibits ‘rare and exclusive’ prints in the Steel City
Kid Acne is exhibiting a new show Standard Practice in his home city of Sheffield where visitors can expect ‘rare and exclusive’ prints dating back to 1999 plus new work in silkscreen, risograph, mono print and cyanotype.
It’s the first time Kid Acne has exhibited in the Steel City since the Kill Your Darlings show in 2011 at the Millennium Gallery.
Work on show will span a career which has seen him take on the role of artist, graffiti painter, illustrator, fanzine designer, and print-maker as well as hip-hop recording artist and more recently animator, having brought to life one of his best loved characters Zebra Face for Channel 4.
The main focus of this show is to reveal the diversity of Kid Acne’s print-making techniques.
B&B Gallery owner Florence Blanchard says, ‘There will be rare prints and artist proofs of old sold out editions together with new work specially produced for this occasion.’
Kid Acne is currently working on more animated Zebra Face adventures alongside a cast who include Jarvis Cocker and Roots Manuva.
Standard Practice runs from 6 February – 1 March at B&B Gallery, 95B Mary St. Sheffield S1 4RT
