Hot 50: YOUNG CREATIVE NETWORK
The Young Creative Network may not be well known, but there is no denying the work it has done in promoting and encouraging new design talent.
It was founded in 2001 as an annual awards programme for emerging creative practitioners. The awards have since gone from strength to strength, culminating each year with a summer exhibition and annual book. Both of these present notable submissions alongside inspiring content.
YCN established a creative consultancy in London’s Shoreditch in 2007 to create its own work and represent illustrators and movingimage designers. The consultancy works for a variety of clients across media platforms.
It also publishes the quarterly magazine Ideas Illustrated to showcase design and illustrations. Illustrators are invited to respond to a theme and to create related images.
