D&AD director of education Chris Thompson has quit the organisation to join Ravensbourne College of Design and Communications in the newly created role of head of enterprise and innovation.

‘It is a really exciting new role, giving me an opportunity to create something big and new from scratch’, he says.

It is not yet known who will replace Thompson, who is leaving in mid-March, but D&AD is currently hunting for somebody to fill the position.

Thompson, previously deputy director for education and training for three years, took over as director from Claire Fennelow in July 2005.

Prior to this, Thompson was graduating creatives programme manager for 18 months, after joining from the Natural History Museum arts and business.

Michael Hockney, D&AD chief executive, says, ‘Chris has made an outstanding contribution to the education and professional development team, and to the growth of D&AD’s global programmes – particularly the Global Student Awards and the Global University Network.’
