Saffron poaches for principal

Saffron Brand Consultants has poached Wolff Olins senior consultant Ian Stephens to become a principal at the group.

At Saffron, he will be responsible for growing the consultancy’s business, working alongside chairman Wally Olins and principals Jacob Benbunan and Kate Manasian. Saffron currently has about 40 people working across its London and Madrid offices.

According to a spokeswoman for Wolff Olins, Stephens will be replaced ‘as part of an ongoing recruitment of senior people’, although she declines to be more specific.

Stephens’s clients at Wolff Olins have included ABN Amro and international law firm Linklaters. He also led the global brand programme for consumer goods giant Unilever.

Stephens has a background in advertising, having worked for advertising agencies Ogilvy & Mather, AMV BBDO and HHCL & Partners, where he was a partner.
