Clifton to head Fox Murphy

Norwich-based consultancy Fox Murphy has appointed a former JWT Group general manager, James Clifton, as managing director.

As part of his new role, Clifton will drive client relationships, the consultancy’s digital offer and its profile in London, following the introduction of an office in Spitalfields.

‘The company is ten years old and is in good shape’, says Clifton, ‘but it recognises that it needs to continue to change and develop. Our new office in Spitalfields gives us another dimension and my digital background and experience in New York will hopefully be a benefit to existing clients.’

Clifton returns to the UK after a two-year stint in New York, where he worked for advertising group JWT as general manager for team HSBC North America. In this role, he ran the HSBC account as well as managed key partners JWT, RMG Connect, Mindshare and Kang & Lee.

Additionally, he was responsible for the overall management of the digital communications for the global financial services company.

Clifton has also worked for advertising agency TBWA and on the client side for Renault UK.
