The London 2012 organisers are hunting for a marketing director to lead the games’ marketing and brand strategies.

As part of the role, the marketing director will be expected to act as a brand guardian and lead the approvals process for the usage of the London 2012 logo, while balancing brand protection and maximising commercial opportunities.

Responsibilities will also include leading the development and delivery of the London 2012 brand strategy, and establishing and implementing marketing partnerships with media organisations.

The position within the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games comes as the organisation is just weeks away from shortlisting consultancies for its delayed design and creative services panel tender.

The second stage of the process, which was due to start in November, will involve Locog issuing invitations to tender.
