WPP buys Asian digital group

WPP-owned Wunderman has acquired Asia-based digital consultancy Agenda Group for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1996, Agenda provides technology and digital marketing services. It employs 260 people and is based in Hong Kong, with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Malaysia and Taiwan. Clients include Johnson & Johnson, Pepsi, HSBC, Carrefour and DHL.

The group’s unaudited revenues for the year ending 30 June 2007 were $9.2m (£4.7m), with assets of $6.2m (£3.2m).

WPP says the acquisition represents its continuing strategy of developing networks in fast-growing markets and strengthening its capabilities in digital media.

Last year WPP made several acquisitions in the Asian market, including WPP Digital’s purchase in June of Singapore-based digital marketing agency Blue.
