CDT designs face of London Art Fair

CDT Design has created the look for this year’s London Art Fair, which opens to the public on Wednesday.

The consultancy has worked with client Upper Street Events on the visual identity and communications for the fair over the past five years, and was tasked with updating its look for 2009 last July.

‘This year, the London Art Fair wanted to do something a bit more premium and upmarket. We’ve created a look that’s a lot simpler than last year, with a higher quality, a bit more muted and understated,’ explains CDT account executive Candy Schneider.

This year’s visual communications – ranging from exhibition banners to invitations, ticketing, posters and a fair guide, as well as a website – is a departure from the photographic style and ‘people imagery’ that was created last year.

This year’s fair guide, now included in the price of the ticket, has been redesigned to be less like a catalogue and have a stronger editorial focus.

The London Art Fair is held at the Business Design Centre, London N1, from 14-18 January.
