Central Station designer networking site hosts live events

Central Station, a social networking website for designers, artists and filmmakers, is holding live events in Dundee and London next month.

In Dundee on 6 February, local creatives, including graphic designers Johanna Basford and Lyall Bruce, will give presentations about their work.

A tour of the city’s cultural destinations will take in the restored McManus Gallery, Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art, Wasps Studios and Generator Projects.

Artist Martin Boyce will also present his Venice Biennale exhibition at Dundee Contemporary Arts.

The talks and presentations will be uploaded to Central Station’s website throughout the day.

‘We’re using pop-up events to bring our virtual community into the real world, and giving the general public opportunities to deepen their engagement with contemporary art, film and design,’ says Central Station producer Suzy Glass.

Details of the London event, to take place at the end of February, are yet to be confirmed.
