Conran Design Group restructures 3D design offer

Conran Design Group says it has reappraised its environmental design offer in light of the difficulties suffered by the retail sector last year.

Jane Simmonds, managing partner of CDG, says the consultancy has put two people on the environmental design team on ‘a different working relationship’. She adds that the team will continue to work on environmental design elements of projects for CDG clients such as Shell.

Simmonds says the restructure has come about as ‘retail in particular has suffered over the past year’, although she adds that CDG has seen growth in sectors such as digital.

She adds, ‘Essentially, the core of our business is about expressing brands – and this includes environmental work. But we do this work as part of bigger projects, not as a pure offer. As soon as the market picks up again we will be rebuilding the resource.’
