Futurebrand continues board restructure with CEO appointment

Futurebrand is continuing to rebuild its management team with the appointment of Patrick Smith as chief executive worldwide, following a cull of senior staff last year.

Managing director Jasmine Montgomery, managing creative partner Tina Prior and head of strategy Piers Guilar were all axed last year.

In the run-up to the New Year, Pete Hollingsworth joined as managing creative director, Stuart Dickinson joined as creative director and Chris Nurko rejoined the consultancy as chairman. Hollingsworth and Nurko will start work in ‘spring 2010’, Futurebrand says.

Smith was formerly president and chief operating officer at the consultancy, which he joined in 2005.

He says that his appointment comes ‘as clients seem to be breaking free of a year of conservatism with the realisation that, to be competitive, they have to innovate around their product and service offerings’.
