Peter Bowles creates Original BTC lighting showroom
Lighting designer Peter Bowles is opening a showroom for his light fittings company Original BTC, in London’s Chelsea Harbour, SW10. Bowles has designed the interiors himself.
The 120m2 space will showcase Original BTC’s range of table, floor, wall and pendant lights, which are made in the UK, largely using aluminium, bone china and glass.
White walls and wooden floors will give the space ‘a very clean feel’, says an Original BTC spokeswoman. The showroom will have more than 200 lights on show.
‘The interior design had to be kept clean because the lights run a gamut from industrial to contemporary – Bowles did not want to impose a particular style or flavour on visitors,’ she says.
Previously, the company’s sales were run from the Original BTC factory in Oxford.
‘Until now, there has been no opportunity for trade customers to view the collection in full, and the company could not have gone much further without a showroom,’ says the spokeswoman.
Original BTC’s showroom opens next week.
