Design Indaba

Design Indaba, South Africa’s super-conference of creativity, returns next month with a speaker list headed by husband and wife Seymour Chwast and Paula Scher.

Design Indaba has been running since 1995, and the 2013 edition will take place from 27 February-1 March at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (with a live simulcast at various venues across southern Africa).

 Other speakers at the three-day event include John Maeda, Marian Bantjes, type designer Matthew Carter and product designer Oscar Diaz, as well as advertising legend Sir John Hegarty.

As well as international speakers, Design Indaba will also provide a platform for South African creatives, such as artist Nicholas Hlobo, known for his experimental use of materials such as rubber and ribbon.
