Tokyo Digital worked with 4Music on overhauling all aspects of the site, looking at strategy, user experience and an ‘entire new functionality for the site, including bespoke media players and deeper social integration’, says consultancy managing director Aaron Bimpson.

4Music launched a new logo and on-screen identity in 2012, which was said to have been designed by the in-house teams at 4Creative and Box TV, a network of seven music Channels including 4 Music, Magic, The Box and Kerrang!, run by Channel  4 and media giant Bauer Media.

This branding is carried through to the new website.

Managing director of Box TV and 4Music Matt Rennie says the new look and feel aims to be ‘informative, engaging and fun’.

Other new features include interactive polls and quizzes, aimed at boosting audience engagement and video playlists that allow viewers to watch content hosted on other sites such as YoutTube.

Amido is working on the site build, using open source content management system Drupal. The site will be available on desktop, mobile and tablet platforms, and launches on 27 January.
