English & Pockett is to join a growing number of UK broadcast design groups competing within the Asian market, with the launch of a Singapore office this week.

It joins Bruce Dunlop Associates, competing for work among the 13 broadcast corporations and 65 television channels in the region.

Red Bee Media is also thought to be considering opening a Singapore office.

According to E&P managing director Richard Wallman, the growing number of media corporations in the region is providing a steady flow of work for UK screen design groups.

E&P already has a number of established Asian clients, including BBC Global and Thai channel UBC.

It intends to use its Singapore office initially as a client services base, ‘funnelling’ creative direction back to its London base.
