Bristol showcase for west of England design

Designers in the west of England are mounting an exhibition in Bristol this week, showcasing their work to local businesses.

Over 60 product, graphics, digital, interiors and exhibition design groups will exhibit at the Paintworks, a 280m2 warehouse space that last month hosted work by Banksy and others at the Urban Art show.

The event is being organised by the West of England Design Forum.

‘There is an exciting wealth of great design going on in our region; things that ought to make businesses look west for creative inspiration,’ says forum chairman Bob Mytton.

‘Up until now, there hasn’t been an appropriate collaborative outlet to reinforce this message.’

Simon Waterfall, president of D&AD and creative director of Poke, is speaking tomorrow evening at the inaugural Designers’ Showcase event.

The organisers hope to attract a mixture of businesses, design graduates and members of the public to the show.

The Designers’ Showcase opens to the public tomorrow and runs until 17 July.
