New top creative at Body Shop

The Body Shop International has appointed Nikki Austen as its new creative director. She replaces Franco Bonadio, who left to become Identica UK chief executive in January.

Austen joins The Body Shop from her position as creative director at design consultancy Fold7.

She will be heading the beauty products manufacturer and retailer’s in-house creative team, comprising 50 designers specialising in store design, packaging and visual merchandising.

At Fold7, Austen worked on several beauty accounts, including Molton Brown and L’Oréal, and has also worked in Amsterdam and New York for clients including Bath & Body Works and Red or Dead.

Austen describes The Body Shop as ‘a brand with so much creative potential’.

She will report to global brand director Philip Clough when she joins the company in August.

See the next edition of Design Week for more details, out on 6 August.
