WPP ad agency Wunderman has acquired Chicago-based interactive consultancy Designkitchen.

The addition of Designkitchen is the latest move in Wunderman’s expansion plan across secondary markets in the US, exploiting Designkitchen’s Web strategy, design and information architecture capabilities, according to a WPP statement.

Designkitchen will continue to operate under its existing brand name, with its current chief executive Sam Landers remaining in place.

He will report to Wunderman president Rick Schreuder.

The two offices have worked together on projects for clients including Burger King, HON and Butterball.

Wunderman, which is headquartered in New York with offices in 55 countries, revealed a new identity designed by fellow WPP group Lambie-Nairn in March earlier this year.
