A Bathing Ape opts for Wonderwall interiors

Japanese streetwear brand A Bathing Ape is poised to relaunch its flagship European store in London, with a revamped interior by Wonderwall founder Masamichi Katayama.

The redesigned 70m2 store interior features aluminium, stainless steel and neon materials that Katayama hopes will create a clean, spacious and playful retail environment.

The new store reopens on Saturday, at its Upper James Street, W1 location, following the brand’s six-month temporary residence at Dover Street Market.

Based in Tokyo, retail design consultancy Wonderwall has created the interiors for the entire network of A Bathing Ape stores in the Japanese capital, and last year designed the US flagship stores in Los Angeles.

In 2007, the group also designed Japanese clothing retailer Uniqlo’s two Oxford Street stores in London.
