Lodz Design Festival programme unveiled

Lodz Design Festival will take place for the third time this October, focusing on industrial design, graphics, architecture and fashion.

A series of events and exhibitions will take place in the city’s galleries and museums, themed My Way, after an installation titled My Way – New Ways of Design by Polish ceramics design consultancy Paradyz Group.

The festival is being curated by Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka, Marek Cecua and Tomek Rygalik and will feature lectures by Paradyz Group.

There will be a competition, called Make Me, for young designers, sponsored by the National Centre for Culture and Lodz Art Centre. Entrants must be aged between 20- and 30-years-old, and the best projects will be presented to the festival audience and featured in the annual catalogue. The overall winner will receive a cash prize of 20 000 PLN (£4000).

Last year the event attracted 250 Polish and international designers and more than 20 000 visitors.

The third annual Lodz Design Festival will take place from 15-30 October in Lodz, Poland.

The deadline for applications is 21 August.
