Developer Kirkstone Real Estate appointed the consultancy in February as part of a £3m refurbishment of the centre, formerly known as The Old Market Shopping Centre.
Asked to ‘completely refresh the centre’s image’, Redcow Creative’s creative director Joe Mateo says, ‘We looked at the heritage of Taunton and Somerset, and how it is a traditional cider-making area’.
The new logotype will be set in stainless steel and hung from the shopping centre, incorporating brass cladding, halo lighting and a stone enamel leaf emblem.
Subject to a planning application, the identity will be applied to signage, also designed by Redcow Creative. A website, brochures and banners are also being designed by the consultancy.
The consultancy has plans to develop the website into a hub for community activity.
The shopping centre will relaunch, with its new identity, in October.
