Simmer works on Claire’s Handmade preserves

Simmer is designing a new identity, packaging, website and marketing materials for artisan preserve-maker Claire’s Handmade.

The branding consultancy, which specialises in the food and drinks market, was appointed two weeks ago on the back of a branding review that it conducted for Claire’s Handmade in August.

‘The brief is to take what is a very carefully conceived, premium product and make the design work much harder, so that the outside of the pack lives up to its contents,’ says Simmer managing director Richard Reeves.

The Cumbria-based food company designed its own packaging and branding, which Simmer intends to radically revamp.

‘The current labels are distinctive and descriptive, but there is no emotional attachment to the product being made,’ adds Reeves.

As well as a new website, Simmer intends to place the brand on social media websites including Facebook and Twitter.

The new branding and packaging will launch in late October.
