Black and Ginger creates website for Slazenger vintage brand

Liverpool-based consultancy Black and Ginger has created a website for new fashion brand Slazenger Heritage.

The new brand is inspired by iconic products from Slazenger’s history, including classic tennis wear and the football used in the 1966 World Cup.

Black and Ginger was appointed in December 2009 after it was approached by Slazenger.

The consultancy was briefed to create a website that would demonstrate Slazenger Heritage’s vintage credentials and provide information about the brand’s history.

The look and feel of the site was inspired by vintage sports memorabilia. It features a collage of old sports photographs alongside images of the new clothing range on a textured paper background.

The branding has been developed by Chris Lee, formerly creative director at Wade Smith, Reebok and DKNY.

Lee says, ‘Black and Ginger really understood what we wanted to achieve in creating a vintage feel for the site.’

He adds, ‘We have added an online archive which will constantly be updated adding images from the past 129 years of Slazenger – it will be an exciting section for people interested in the brand to look at, and we are encouraging anyone with old Slazenger items to take pictures and send them in.’
