JHP works on interiors for Hed Kandi store

JHP Design is creating the retail interiors for clubland brand Hed Kandi’s first store, which opens at Bluewater shopping centre in August.

Ministry of Sound music sub-brand Hed Kandi appointed JHP earlier this year to create a fashion store concept that could be rolled out across several planned locations.

‘We have created a designer boutique store feel mixed with a young dynamic feel,’ says JHP joint managing director Raj Wilkinson. ‘Elegance and use of height are the key drivers’.

The store, which will sell fashion and accessories aimed at 18- to 30-year-old women, features a mirror ball in the ceiling and a continuous mirror brick frieze set around the perimeter of the store. Besides mirrors, materials and colours will include gold, matt black, reflective surfaces and a cream floor.

Former La Senza chief executive Rose Foster became managing director of Hed Kandi Fashion in February, with a remit to roll out a retail chain.

The 140m2 store opens on 19 August.
