Nixon works as lead consultancy for Sharp’s brewery

Cornish group Nixon has become the lead consultancy for Sharp’s Brewery following a three-way pitch against Gendall and Hush Creative, as the company prepares to position real ale as an aspirational product for younger drinkers.

The brewery – a Cornish company – chose to look within Cornwall for a consultancy. Joe Keohane, managing director at Sharp’s Brewery, says, ‘By restricting our search just to Cornwall, the worry was that we needed to compromise. With Nixon there is no compromise.’

Consultancy managing director Martin Nixon says that a raft of branding and packaging jobs will now be undertaken. ‘We need to create coherency over everything Sharp’s does and look at strategy – the brand overall and its core values.’

Nixon’s first task will be to look at the company’s seasonal branding and website which will be overhauled, in addition to possible viral marketing and iPhone apps.

The seasonal branding campaign is prompted by an Eden Project initiative to encourage seasonal produce, according to Nixon.
