Uniform brands Oxford youth theatre

Uniform has created branding for community youth theatre Pegasus in Oxford.

Uniform was appointed in September 2009, following a tender process which resulted in the consultancy competing against five other shortlisted groups.

Pegasus head of marketing Gill Jaggers says, ‘We were immediately excited by Uniform’s ideas for including our wide community into the design process. It has made sure that the brand we now have is entirely ours.’

The theatre briefed Uniform to create a brand that would raise the its profile to coincide with the unveiling of Pegasus’ new building, which is due to open in September. The project also needed to engage the theatre’s young members and involve them in the design process through consultative workshops, says Jaggers.

The branding has been designed to be flexible so that it can be adapted to promote different productions and programmes. It features the letter P formed from brightly coloured circles. It was inspired by the idea of ‘individual voices in harmony’, says Uniform design director Tim Sharp.

Uniform is currently working on marketing collateral and an advertising campaign that will launch later in the summer, before the opening of the new building in September.
