A changing cast
The Aram Gallery in London is set to present the latest installment of its on-going Prototypes and Experiments exhibition series – Casts and Moulds.
While previous shows have focused on aspects such as metalworks and architectural elements, this sixth exhibition focuses, as the title suggests, on casting and moulding as a means of manufacture.
An eclectic range of designers has been brought together – including Barber Osgerby, Gitta Gschwender, Max Lamb and Peter Marigold. The Aram Gallery says the intention is to show the range of moulding techniques used across different design disciplines – product, furniture, jewellery and architecture.
As well as finished products, the exhibition will show prototypes of design details, and the mould as well as its casts – breaking the mould of most design exhibitions. (Sorry).
Prototypes and Experiments VI: Casts and Moulds runs at the Aram Gallery, London WC2B from 28 July-27 August.
