Buffalo Creative repackages XXX Extra Strong Mints

Buffalo Creative has redesigned the packaging for Fox’s Confectionery Limited’s XXX Extra Strong Mints, including creating packaging for the new Spearmint flavour.

The consultancy was appointed to the project without a pitch July 2010, having worked with Fox’s for two years. Buffalo Creative also redesigned the packaging for the entire Fox’s glacier confectionery range earlier this year.

Clair Hassard, creative director at Buffalo Creative, says, ‘We stripped it back to what the essence of XXX was. The X is very strong on recall, and the packaging is more refereshed. The explosive cracked background is a reflection of the mints being explosive and powerful.’

She adds, ‘It’s very clean and very sharp, and we used coloured foil on either end – green on XXX peppermint and bright blue on the spearmint – it really finished it off and gave it impact.’

The first product to launch will be the spearmint variant, which will begin to roll out in a couple of weeks time.
