Create’s Plates
New works by a raft of designers have been brought together by the East London Design Show as part of Create 11 – the annual arts and cultural programme.
Under one roof visitors can find new designs by graphics collective A Little Bit of Art, which is presenting Freya Cummings’ work, and East End Prints which is displaying a new print collection designed by Wayne Hemingway, who has drawn together quotes coined in the 1960s to make typographic prints.
Reiko Kaneko makes British bone china tableware, crafted in ceramics homeland Stoke but using Japanese design motifs. She’ll be presenting new work at the shop.
Furniture designer Norman Speller is presenting new pieces too, and Jianhui, who produces handmade crystal jewelry inspired by nature, is showing a new fruit-based collection. Also look out for the ever-recognisable People Will Always Need Plates crockery.
The shop is open from 14-23 July – except Sunday 17 July – at 2-4 Heron Quays, Canary Wharf,E14
