Aronsen established her company in 1998 and entered into a partnership with Danish group Kvadrat in 2002. She was also a professor at the University of Stockholm and lectured at Konstfack – University College of Arts, Crafts and Design.
This year, Fanny Aronsen Studio was set up, to allow Aronsen to collaborate with different designers.
Sigge, created by Aronsen and Swedish designer Sigurd Falk, was the first textile to be released by the studio. The studio is set to continue under Kvadrat.
Aronsen died on 3 July. A statement from Kvadrat says, ‘Kvadrat wishes to express their sincere condolences to Fanny Aronsen’s family, friends, work colleagues and the many people whose lives she touched.’
